Peneda-Gerês National Park is the only national park in Portugal and was declared a World Biosphere Reserve by UNESCO. It covers a vast area that extends from the Gerês mountains to the Peneda mountains, constituting a sanctuary of biodiversity and scenic beauty. Rich in flora and fauna, Gerês serves as a refuge for species such as the Iberian wolf, the garno (a type of wild horse) and an impressive variety of birds of prey.

First Stop: Óbidos Village
Our first stop is the enchanting village of Óbidos. Famous for its well-preserved medieval walls, narrow cobblestone streets, and whitewashed houses adorned with colourful flowers, Óbidos feels like a place straight out of a fairy tale.
Explore the Porta da Vila, the main gate to the town, and stroll through the historic centre filled with craft shops, cosy cafés, and charming souvenir stores.
Don’t miss the chance to taste the famous Ginjinha de Óbidos, a cherry liqueur traditionally served in a chocolate cup.
